Dedicated backend engineers
Need a backend engineer for APIs, payments, integrations or a database that has started to creak? DayDecoder hires backend developers from Ahmedabad, India who work in Laravel, PHP, Node.js and Python, write tests, and keep overlap hours with the US, UK, Europe and Australia.
Most of the products on this site are backend-heavy: money moving between accounts, data syncing between systems, and jobs that must run every night without anyone watching.
The credit-card bill payments platform runs on Laravel, MySQL and Redis with Razorpay and PayU, and serves both web and a React Native app through a JWT API. The customs inventory tracking ERP integrates Laravel with an IBM i (AS400) DB2 system over REST and EDI. The WhatsApp marketing SaaS combines the WhatsApp Business API, Stripe, Razorpay, Pusher and Docker. The multi-tenant legal entity platform uses PostgreSQL with Laravel Sanctum and AWS S3. Python shows up where it belongs, in IoT, OCR and trading pipelines.
A backend hire on this team is expected to think about the schema before the controller, put slow work on a queue, make webhooks idempotent and leave a test behind when they fix a bug. Those habits matter more than the language, which is why this page covers backend capacity across several stacks rather than a single framework.
REST APIs with Sanctum, Passport or JWT authentication, versioned so a mobile release does not break when the web changes.
Stripe, Razorpay and PayU flows, retries, refunds and reconciliation, with ledger tables that an accountant can follow.
Legacy systems, EDI, messaging APIs, broker and exchange APIs. Each integration gets logging, retries and an alert when the other side changes.
Redis-backed queues, scheduled jobs and database work in MySQL or PostgreSQL, including indexes and migrations that do not lock production.
Skills and tool stack
Laravel is our default, and it is listed on most of our projects. We also staff Node.js and Python where the product already uses them.
For a new product we usually recommend Laravel with MySQL or PostgreSQL, Redis and queues, because it lets a small team move fast without inventing infrastructure. Node.js fits realtime and JavaScript-heavy teams. Python fits data pipelines, OCR and trading tools. We do not split a small product into microservices to make a diagram look impressive; we split it when a part genuinely needs to scale or deploy on its own.
Engagement models
Backend work compounds: the person who designed the schema is the cheapest person to change it. We recommend continuity wherever the product will keep growing.
One engineer who owns APIs, jobs and data for your product and ships every week. Best when the backlog is real and the system will keep evolving.
The same person for a fixed number of days each week. Good for an integration lane, a payments module or support for an in-house team.
Slow queries, a failing webhook, a code review or an upgrade plan. Time-logged. Greenfield builds are not a good fit for hourly billing.
Hiring process
Five steps, a written proposal before anything starts, and code in your repository from the first week.
Thirty minutes with the founder about the system, the data, the integrations and where it hurts today.
The person, the engagement model, the start date and the first problems we would tackle. No obligation.
NDA if you want one, then repository, staging, logs and read-only database access with the least privilege that works.
A small, tested change merged through your review process in the first week, so the setup is proven early.
Working endpoints, jobs or reports every week, plus a short written note on risks we have spotted in the system.
Ahmedabad time is useful for backend work. Long migrations, imports and batch jobs can run while your team sleeps, with results and logs waiting in the morning. Decisions about data and money still need a human on both sides, so we keep overlap windows for the UK and Europe in our afternoon, a late slot for US teams, and early calls with Australia.
Incidents get a written timeline in your channel, not a vague apology, and we agree in the proposal who is on point outside overlap hours.
Morning updates waiting in your inbox when the US workday starts.
Same-day overlap for calls, reviews, and decisions.
Afternoon overlap with Central and Eastern European teams.
Early-morning calls that fit the Australian workday.
We are a founder-led software company in Ahmedabad. The backends behind the case studies on this site are the work we are offering you.
Payments, ledgers, reconciliation and legacy integrations are a large part of our public work, so careful data handling is a habit rather than a promise.
Idempotent webhooks, retries, logging and tests on the paths that move money or data. Fewer surprises at month end.
We will tell you when a monolith is fine and when a queue, a cache or a separate service would actually help.
Source, migrations and documentation belong to you once paid for. Credentials stay in your accounts.
