DayDecoder ("we", "us", "our") is a software development company based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat 382421, India. We build web, mobile, AI and cloud software for clients in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Australia and India. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have.
Who is responsible for your data
DayDecoder is the data controller (called a "Data Fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) for personal data collected through this website and our sales and support conversations. When we build or run software for a client, the client is usually the controller of the data inside that software and we act as its processor under a written agreement.
What we collect
- Information you give us: your name, work email, company, the service you are interested in and the details you write in our contact form or emails.
- Project information: contact details of client team members, and any data a client shares with us so we can deliver a project.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, collected through server logs and the cookies described in our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not ask for sensitive data (such as health or financial details) through this website.
How we use it and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare proposals (steps taken at your request before a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries).
- To deliver and support the services in our contract with you (performance of a contract).
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and fix problems (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties (legal obligation).
- To send occasional updates only where you have agreed to receive them (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
Where we rely on consent under the DPDP Act 2023 or GDPR, we ask for it clearly and you can withdraw it as easily as you gave it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business (for example hosting, email, cloud infrastructure and accounting providers), professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it. These providers may only use the data to provide their service to us.
International transfers
We are based in India and our providers may store data in other countries. When personal data from the EU, EEA or UK is transferred to India or another country without an adequacy decision, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for up to 24 months after our last contact unless we start working together. We keep contract, invoice and project records for as long as the contract runs and afterwards for the period tax and company laws require. We then delete or anonymise the data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights (DPDP Act 2023). EU and UK residents may also complain to their local data protection authority. California and other US state residents may have similar rights under their state laws. We do not sell or "share" personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Security
We protect personal data with access controls, encryption in transit, secure hosting and least-privilege access for our team. No system is completely secure, so if we become aware of a breach that affects you we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
