The challenge
Restaurants and stores wanted to sell from tablets and counter terminals, let customers order at a kiosk, send orders to the kitchen and count stock on the shop floor, all against the same live data as the web back office. The apps had to talk to receipt printers and keep working smoothly on busy, sometimes unreliable connections.
What we built
We built a Flutter POS app organised by feature (auth, POS, inventory, expenses, kitchen display, kiosk, printer, settings) with separate mobile and terminal layouts, Riverpod state, go_router navigation and local storage with Hive. It prints receipts over Bluetooth and network printers using ESC/POS and can drive a customer-facing second display. Alongside it, React Native apps built with Expo cover counter POS, a customer self-order kiosk, a table-ordering app and an inventory app for stock counts, purchases and adjustments, all using the platform's REST API.
